Maternal RSV vaccination was about 80% effective against infant RSV admission in real-world use

A meta-analysis of seven real-world studies from Argentina, the UK and the US (7,112 infants) found maternal RSVpreF vaccination given at least 14 days before delivery was 82% effective against RSV lower respiratory tract infection admission to 3 months and 78% to 6 months. A network meta-analysis of 42 randomised trials in 3,835 adolescents with obesity found medication combined with lifestyle treatment gave the largest short-term BMI reductions; semaglutide with counselling led (BMI −8.3 kg/m²) on limited data, every drug worked better with lifestyle support than alone, and lifestyle treatment alone still lowered BMI by 3.9. Extended follow-up of a South African trial found a 1+1 PCV13 schedule stayed non-inferior to 2+1 for antibody levels to age 5, but 1+1 PCV10 schedules lost non-inferiority by age 4. A meta-analysis of eight trials (4,106 children) found adjunctive corticosteroids in Kawasaki disease did not significantly reduce coronary artery abnormalities, with very low certainty evidence and only a modestly shorter hospital stay.
