Maternal RSV vaccination was about 80% effective against infant RSV hospital admission in real-world use
Seven post-rollout studies from three countries confirm the trial result outside it. Also: medication plus lifestyle gave the largest BMI falls in adolescent obesity, a single-dose PCV13 primary schedule held up to age five while PCV10 did not, and six red flags that pointed to Marfan syndrome in children.

A meta-analysis of seven real-world studies from Argentina, the UK and the US (7,112 infants) found maternal RSVpreF vaccination given at least 14 days before delivery was 82% effective against RSV lower respiratory tract infection admission to three months and 78% to six months. A network meta-analysis of 42 trials in adolescents with obesity found medication combined with lifestyle treatment gave the largest BMI reductions, semaglutide with counselling most (−8.3 kg/m²), and lifestyle treatment alone reduced BMI by 3.9 kg/m². In South Africa, a single primary dose plus booster of PCV13 kept antibody levels non-inferior to a two-dose schedule until age five, but PCV10 on the same reduced schedule fell below non-inferiority by age four. In 129 children tested for Marfan syndrome, family history of aortic disease, aortic root z-score of 2 or more, ectopia lentis, tall stature, long arm span and hindfoot deformity predicted a confirmed FBN1 variant.

Keep structured lifestyle treatment as the base for adolescent obesity, and add medication to it rather than using medication alone.
